How to connect Shopify
Goal: Link your Shopify store so support or commerce assistants can use order/catalog context and (with engineering) event-driven flows such as abandoned cart.
Who does what
| Role | Tasks |
|---|---|
| You (admin) | Choose workspace, approve access, test chat |
| Engineering | Deploy/configure the Shopify connector, secrets, and flow triggers |
What you need
- Owner or Admin on the Qefro organization
- Shopify store admin access (or a collaborator who can install apps / create admin tokens — per your security policy)
- A target AI Workspace (e.g. Support or Commerce)
Steps (operator)
- Open app.qefro.com → your organization.
- Open the AI Workspace that should own commerce answers and tools.
- Confirm knowledge is ready for policies (shipping, returns) — Knowledge Base.
- Ask engineering to enable the Shopify integration for this org/workspace — they follow Integrations → Shopify.
- When tools appear under Business Tools, run Test from Admin Console chat:
- “Where is order 1001?”
- “What is your return window?” (should cite knowledge, not invent policy)
- Optional: enable website widget or WhatsApp on the same workspace — Channels.
- Optional outcomes: Order tracking, Abandoned cart.
Workflow
Shopify connected
- Pick workspace — Support vs Commerce isolation.
- Upload policies — Returns, shipping, FAQs.
- Engineering connects store — Connector + credentials.
- Verify tools in chat — Real order IDs in a safe environment first.
- Turn on channel — Widget and/or WhatsApp.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Assistant cannot see orders | Tool registered? Correct workspace? Engineering credentials valid? |
| Wrong store data | Multiple shops — confirm which connection is bound to this workspace |
| Events not starting flows | Engineering: event names + flow metadata.trigger — Event-driven triggers |
